The Past, the Present, and Our Purpose
World History Life™ was created with one big idea in mind: that history isn’t just about the past; it’s about understanding the world we live in today.
Founded by a curious high school student passionate about history, science, politics, and big ideas, World History Life brings yesterday’s stories into conversations that matter right now. We believe that by exploring how past civilizations rose and fell, how inventions reshaped lives, how wars and movements shifted power, and how people thought and led, we can become sharper thinkers, better decision-makers, and more engaged citizens.
At World History Life™, we make history approachable, relevant, and even fun. Through well-researched blog posts, thoughtful commentary, and eye-opening connections to modern life, our goal is to spark critical thinking in students, inspire curiosity in lifelong learners, and offer a fresh perspective for anyone who’s ever asked, “Why does this matter?”
Whether you’re here for an alternate history deep dive, an exploration of ancient political systems, or a breakdown of how economic theories evolved across time, there’s something here for you.
This isn’t your typical classroom history.
This discussion is history that lives.
Our Mission
At World History Life™, our mission is to inspire critical thinking and curiosity by connecting the dots between the past, present, and future. We aim to make history and science relatable, relevant, and rewarding for students by showing how these disciplines shape the world we live in and the lives we lead.
But we’re not stopping there.
We believe that learning should go beyond the classroom. That’s why we’re building a space where high school and college students can learn from each other, not just through textbooks, but through real-life experiences and projects.
Inspiring Through Experience
One of our newest goals is to feature guest blog posts from college students who are working on exciting, hands-on internships and research. These aren’t just résumés in progress; they’re stories of discovery, challenge, growth, and purpose.
For example, one of our first guest contributors, Ashley Galbraith, is spending her summer at Wellesley College researching solar cell technology under the guidance of Professor Rebecca Belisle. Her work focuses on lead halide perovskites, a promising material for next-generation solar panels. Ashley and her team are investigating the limits of their performance to help unlock cleaner, more efficient energy for the future.
This kind of work doesn’t just belong in advanced science journals; it belongs in conversations among curious students who want to know what’s possible.
Whether it’s scientific research, public policy, global development, or tech innovation, our goal is to showcase real-world projects that help students see themselves in those roles, now and in the future.
So if you’re a high school student wondering where your interests could lead, or a college student excited to share what you’re learning and building, World History Life™ is your platform.
This is a blend of history, science, and life, all connected
Meet the Founding Author of World History Life™
Hi, I’m Alex Galbraith, founder of World History Life™, and probably a lot like you.
I’m a high school student who’s passionate about asking big questions:
Why do empires fall? How do revolutions start? What makes a civilization thrive or collapse? And more importantly… What does any of that mean for us today?
I started this site because I wanted a place where history didn’t feel like a pile of dates to memorize, but a living story that explains why the world works the way it does, from politics to economics, culture to science, war to innovation. History is about people, ideas, and the transformative power of change. It’s about power, struggle, leadership, mistakes, and progress. It’s a lens I use to understand not just the past, but the future I want to help shape.
I’m also an athlete, a student, and someone who enjoys connecting dots across subjects. Whether you’re a fellow history enthusiast, a future policymaker, or just someone who wants to think more deeply about the world, I’m glad you’re here.
Let’s explore how history lives on, in our choices, in our communities, and within us.
Thanks for being part of the journey,
Alex Galbraith
